The OPCW offers internship opportunities to highly motivated applicants with an interest in gaining work experience in an international organisation. The programme provides internship placements at the Technical Secretariat for a period of normally three to six months. Being an intern with the OPCW provides valuable experience in a multi-cultural working environment and enables familiarisation with the operational procedures at an international level.

Additional Information

Payment is subject to monthly certification of service by the Participant’s supervisor.

2. Participants in the Internship Programme receive no financial remuneration from the OPCW for expenses that they incur in relation to the programme. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, living expenses and repatriation, etc. are the responsibility of the participant. The participant has to enter and exit the country in accordance with the applicable immigration procedures in The Netherlands.

3. Participants must have sufficient medical insurance (including coverage of costs of hospitalisation for at least the duration of the internship plus one month) and third party liability insurance valid for the Netherlands for the period of their internship (both at their own cost). Participants are required to provide HRB with proof of both insurance provisions, should they be selected for an internship.

4. All interns must provide a medical certificate of good health from their doctor to the Health and Safety Branch prior to being offered an internship.

5. Internship is offered on a full-time basis. Interns will work according to the normal OPCW work pattern of no more than 40 hours a week.
